Pat Barry has been involved in business since his late teens. He owned his own business at the age of 21, and is presently partner/owner of four businesses, and President of Financial Management Inc and Barry Financial Inc. Pat has committed himself to providing expert counsel and resources to his clients. Through his consistent effort, and a reputation for outstanding service, he has built a solid client base and expanded his business through satisfied clients.
Pat has developed a seasoned expertise to meet the unique requirements of successful business owners and closely-held corporations. He has focused on financial, retirement, employee benefits and life insurance planning since 1976. Now, he is focusing on comprehensive estate planning for high net worth clients. Pat stresses an overall planning approach, sometimes employing outside experts (ie tax lawyers or accountants and investment professionals) to assist clients to accomplish their goals and objectives.
Pat’s abilities have been recognized by the financial community as evidenced by his selection for membership in various performance based, investment industry club councils. His achievements include:
- 31 year Life and Qualifying Member of the Million Dollar Round Table
- Member of CALU (Conference for Advanced Life Underwriting) since its inception 18 years ago
- As President of Calgary’s local branch of Advocis, he led his team to capturing the 1991 Totem Pole (awarded to the top local in Canada)
- Served on Advocis National Board of Directors
- Named Calgary’s Insurance & Financial Professional of the Year
- Holds 3 designations
- Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU)
- Chartered Financial Consultant (CH.F.C.)
- President of Financial Management Inc since 1989 to present
Pat’s extensive background and knowledge in the investment arena allows him to share his expertise at retirement seminars and to publish industry related articles.
Active in his community, Pat is a Past-President of the Woodbine Community Association and is a Past-Chairman of the Foundation Board at St. Mary’s University College.
Pat enjoys water sports, skiing, curling and golf. He also enjoys karate, and has qualified for his brown belt. A native and resident of Calgary, Pat has four children and 7 grandchildren.
